Descriptif
Nowadays, educational technologies and traditional textbooks not only exploit text and pictures, but also animations, videos, diagrams, graphics, photos, and more. A large body of research aims at studying the effects of spatial and temporal arrangement of these multiple media on learning in various contexts, and in particular as a function of a given task, such as reading, searching information, or problem solving. In this course, we examine several relevant areas of research, including cognitive psychology of education, applied cognitive psychology, distributed cognition, and cognitive ergonomics. Students will be asked to seek for, select, and present a scientific article in the field.
