Professional bachelor's degree for computer networks and telecommunication

The programme offers the following course(s)

Presentation

The bachelor's degree is organized according to three training curricula :

Block-release : These courses are treated as three autonomous groups (15 to 20 students). The lessons are organized in the following way (lectures, tutorials, practice assignments, conferences, tutored projects, and practica or experience in company).

  • The lectures, which take place at the beginning of the module, are common between the block-release and the initial French-language training. These are sequences (the duration of which corresponds to ~ 15% of the total training time) where there are about 35 to 40 students
  • Conferences (1.5 hours to 3 hours on a specific topic from industrial or international partners with limited availability and therefore unable to offer a course) are also shared by the two French-speaking groups, sometimes even by three groups (conferences in English). Speakers can spend three hours in the morning for all French speakers and three in the afternoon for English speakers
  • The other pedagogical sequences (tutorials and practice assignments, projects) are organized specifically for each group. For block-release students, the project is carried out in a company
  • Lessons from Teaching Unit Disciplines related to science and technology (French communication, English communication, law) are not shared among the 3 groups to meet organizational or language requirements

The trades covered by this training are those of intermediate technical staff in the field of networks and telecommunications. They require general skills to design, install, maintain, secure, and evolve all types of communication networks as well as distributed and collaborative networked communications tools. This course offers a specialization for the deployment and the secure management of networks and wireless networks.

Sectors of activity

This professional can apply for the following jobs: -Network administrator, security manager, information and communication technology manager or webmaster. These businesses currently offer numerous opportunities to network equipment manufacturers, service companies, telecommunications operators, Internet service providers (ISPs), telephony equipment installers, service companies and computer engineering companies, as well as companies, in any sector of activity, managing their own IT resources. In addition, it specializes in the deployment and maintenance of infrastructure and tools intended for collaborative internal use for companies and video broadcasting.

Practica, projects, and missions

Internship: Mandatory
Duration: 16 weeks
Period: April to July
Internship abroad: In France or abroad

The students have a tutored project, planned over a period of 5 months in parallel with the project management lessons which represent 140 hours. Arrangements for organization and evaluation. These projects are supervised by two speakers (a teacher of the teaching team and the project management worker who coordinates the running of this activity). The subject is presented to the students and they must organize themselves in groups of 6 to 8 students to carry out the project. They must in particular designate a project manager and divide the tasks. This project has two objectives: to apply the knowledge acquired during the teaching of project management (work sharing, planning, advancement ...) and put into practice technical knowledge while being in semi autonomy. The supervision consists of making regular assessments of the progress of the project and providing technical and organizational advice. At the end of the project a presentation is made before a jury of teachers. This presentation makes it possible to evaluate the work and the share of each student.

For work-study students, the project is defined within the company with the approval of the teaching team. The objectives of this project are validated during the first visit to the company. Then the progress of the project is evaluated during the training during the second visit. This project is validated by a defense at the end of training at the same time as the internship.

For the group of FI students, 100% of the internships (16 weeks from the beginning of April to the end of July) take place in companies or in local communities.
