Description
The example of the garden and its history from the 18th and 19th centuries will serve as a paradigm for a pluralist reflection on the interaction between literature, painting and garden art. Firstly, the theoretical bases of garden art and garden stylistics based on literature will be explored. Then the concept of “picturesque” will serve as a guideline for interpreting certain historic examples. Finally, during a final stage, several gardens are interpreted as a “text”.
