Degrees incorporating this pedagocial element :
Description
This course is based on the following plan:
A review of Special Relativity and Lorentz transformations.
Relativistic equations 1: spin 0 (Klein-Gordon), spin 1 (Maxwell, covariant electromagnetism), free solution, negative energy and antiparticles.
Relativistic equations 2: spin ½ and Dirac equation, Dirac spinors and matrices. Link with the Lorentz invariance. Electron-photon coupling
Width and cross-section, two-body phase space
Schrödinger, Heisenberg and interaction representations in QM,
Dyson scattering and expansion matrix, concept of the Feynman diagram
Feynman rules, quantum electrodynamics, photon propagator, Compton cross-section
