Description

Reminder of hydrodynamics (Cauchy tensor, conservation of matter/ momentum/energy) for a fluid), conservation laws for a Newtonian fluid, Taylor dispersion, standard flows in the Stokes limit, polymers (microscopic model, entropic elasticity, corrections due to excluded volume interactions), polymer fluids, passive and active suspensions, paper reviews.

Introduction to Newtonian fluids/ complex fluids (shera thinning, shear thikening, non-linerarity, suspensions). Examples and experiments.
