Degrees incorporating this pedagocial element :

This lecture describes the basics of subsurface geophysical methods for one-dimensional prospection. Focus is given to i) resistivity profiles from geoelectric sounding and ii) cartography based on electromagnetic, seismic, and refraction methods.

Teaching is divided between theoretical class lectures (3h), exercices (3h), a one-day fieldwork for data acquisition, followed by analysis and interpretation.

Evaluation is based on the fieldwork report and a final exam with applications of the methods described in class.

Targeted skills

General background on near-surface geophysical prospection methods.
