Description
This option covers the topic of communicating embedded systems, from their architecture via systems on chip (SoC), to their use on prototypes of the Internet of Things equipped with mini operating systems and software ensuring wireless communication protocols.
This option provides the basis for understanding this new domain where hardware constraints (energy, memory, computing, transmission) are strong and have an impact on system software as well as on applications. Practice assignment sessions address the discovery of these systems and their modelling and simulation tools for application development assistance.
Recommended prerequisite
Architecture of hardware systems, networks: basic concepts.

• Understand the specificities of systems-on-chip and embedded systems for the IoT (Internet of Things)
• Know the specification and design methods, architectures, systems, and protocols of embedded systems for IoT.
