Descriptif

This course is an introduction to advanced techniques for the modeling and analysis of electric power systems. Electric power systems has become increasingly complex with the rise of renewable energy sources and digital technology as a way of increasing their efficiency and flexibility. This complexity makes more difficult the design, planning and operation of power systems. This course will teach you how to use advanced techniques to better understand how some properties of power systems (e.g. stability, interdependancies with ICT) emerges from their complexity. Through lectures and computer based exercises you will become familiar to the application of multi-scale, graph and stochastic analysis to some simple test cases. For instance, you will explore how the stability of a power system can be related to the synchronization of a complex oscillators network.

Pré-requis

It is recommended that students have followed and passed courses in power systems engineering, analysis and dynamics.
