Degrees incorporating this pedagocial element :
Description
This course will present the relationship between the structure and the molecular behaviors of the macromolecules (assembly, folding, binding, conformational changes, molecular motions) and will present the strategies (thermodynamic, hydrodynamic, spectroscopic approaches) and biophysical methods used to explore and quantify these properties.
Targeted skills
Expected competences acquired by the students are: expertise in the biophysical approaches used to study biomolecules, hands-on knowledge of several methods commonly used to characterize macromolecule behaviors (light scattering, circular dichroism, fluorescence spectroscopy, isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC), surface plasmon resonance (SPR), thermophoresis, small-angle scattering (SAXS-SANS).
