UE Computer aided design and geometric modelling

Degrees incorporating this pedagocial element :

Geometric models for manufactured products is the focus of the course. Computer Aided Design modellers are commonly based on Boundary Representation (B-Rep) to describe solids. Topological properties required for solid are introduced and illustrated with industrial CAD software (CATIA and SALOME/GEOM). Principles of solid modeling are described based on parameterized models, history trees. Connection with industrial applications like physical simulation using Finite Element approaches is taken as example to introduce the description of non-manifold models.

A project with CATIA or SALOME/GEOM puts in practice the above concepts.
